Staff

We have the coolest volunteer staff ever to run a youth ministry.  All of our staff go through background checks and receive specialized training to work with students, but what qualifies them more than anything is their love for God and for teenagers.  Groundzero staff go the extra mile to show God’s love to the students who are here. This is why we are sucessfull!

Pastor Josh Bentley: I’m practically from the south, I’ve live in Central FL most of my life. I love being able to connect with students, getting into their culture and having the oppurtuinuty to share with them the truth that there is a God and He Loves them unconditionally. I also am a die-hard Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox’s fan. Not sure that goes over too well here in Indiana but oh well.

Aubrey BentleyI wouldn’t be anything without my wife, I love her dearly. I couldn’t do this without her, I thank God that he brought her into my life. Aubrey is everything Pastor Josh is not, she has a million and one responsibilities that she exceeds at. On top of being a Pastors wife, Preschool Teacher, she is the GZ director for the Fine Arts competition .

Mallory Jordan: (Formerly known as Mallory Boulware). A Newburgh native, Mallory wandered south to the Sunshine State for four years to attend Southeastern University. Along the way she met and married her now husband Scott. Who woulda thunk they would move back up to good ole’ Indiana? But sure enough they did! Mallory has a heart for kids of all ages. She is currently the church’s Children’s Director on Sundays and serves in Groundzero on Wednesdays.

Scott Jordan: “It’s great! To be! A Florida Gator!” That’s Scott’s lifesong. Born and raised in Florida, Scott recently made the upward trek to Indiana after marrying Mallory (Jordan) in May 2011. Scott is just about one of the coolest guys you’ll meet. His passion is worship. You’ll see him on stage (the guy with the scruffy face and plaid shirts) playing the acoustic guitar, but his first instrument he ever learned was the bass guitar. Ask him about music. He’d love to chat about it.

Jamie Bowen: Jamie grew up right here in Newburgh.  Having a heart for worship, she leads the groundzero worship team.  The greatest thing about having Jamie lead our worship team is to know that she’s worshipping when she’s on the stage and off.  She worships with her life.

Andrew Bowen: Andrew is an Army Vet, a Husband, and a Father.  He serves on the security team keeping groundzero a safe enviroment.

Shawna Wilson: Shawna loves students.  She also loves to see students connect with God on a personal level, thats why she helps coordinate our “altar ministry”.  The Altar is the front of the stage where students go who wish to receive prayer and to respond to what was said during the message part of the groundzero service.

Bobby Wilson: Bobby loves God, loves students, and hates Mac computers lol.  He helps to make sure all of our technical equipment is being run properly and trains students to run it all.  He also directs our security team helping to ensure a safe, secure, and fun environment for all our students.

Kim Forston: Kim has helped groundzero for nearly 12 years now.  She truly loves God and teens.  Kim helps to keep track of the students by checking them in, running reports, and organizing our front desk and check-in system.  Things would be very unorganized without her and it would be hard to connect with students if she weren’t there to let us know who’s here and who’s missing.

Chad Forston: Chad, like Kim, has been helping groundzero for a while now.  He not only helps with our audio visual team, he also wrote the program that keeps track of our attendance.  Chad helps us with organization and logistics for every service and for our large events.

Sean Owen: Sean started out as a student in groundzero waaaaaaay back in the day along with Pastor Mike.  Sean helps to maintain a secure environment with groundzero and with Bobby runs our technology department.  He also mutes Pastor Josh’s mic everytime he makes a reference to how much better Mac computers are than PC’s.

Danielle Owen: Danielle loves God and is completely devoted to Him and His call.  That’s why she helps to make sure there are clear “next steps” for our students to take when they are ready to make their commitment to God more serious.  She resources all the staff with our JV discipleship material and coaches students in JV as well.

David Barrans: Dave brings a lifetime of experience and love for youth ministry.  He loves connecting students with God at the altar and hanging out with them before and after service.  In doing so he helps to keep a safe and secure environment for our students to connect with one another and with God.

Morgan Barrans: Formally known as Morgan Boulware ;) .  Morgan has a unique heart for the youth ministry at groundzero because she has grown up her entire life in Abundant Life and with the students who have come up through its youth ministry.  As such she desires to see students always have a place to connect with one another and with God.  Morgan helps every student know that they “belong” by making sure there are always people to offer a warm greeting at the front door.

Queena Frye: Always fun to be around, Queena will go the extra mile to make sure every part of groundzero is safe and secure.  She works hard to connect with each student, staff, and parent to ensure a safe place for students to connect with God

Elizabeth Cavender: Gathering information every night from new students and checking in our regulars is no easy task.  Also helping to make sure there is information for staff and students regarding upcoming events can be a big task, but Elizabeth helps to make sure that happens.

Connie Martin: Want a freshly baked cookie from our cafe?  How about a hot dog or nachos?  Can’t have that without Connie, she makes the cafe happen.  Connie doesn’t run it by herself but she works with students and staff alike to make sure the cafe is in full effect.

Miles Willis: His arms are probably bigger than your legs, because he benches like 3000 lbs.  Okay, maybe not that much but a lot!  Miles hangs out with students and is here to make sure the atmosphere remains stable.

Crystal Willis: Crystal can be found helping Connie in the cafe, hanging out with students, checking to see if student’s have a check in stamp and praying with students at the altar.  With a fresh excitement about God and what He can do, she serves the students who come to groundzero.

Terry King: Terry and Connie work together to make sure the cafe is in full effect.  Terry’s love and faithfulness to the Lord and her family make her an excellent example of what a life completely yielded to God can look like.  We hope every student can learn from the example she sets.

TJ Patterson: TJ is the new sound guy around here. You can find him in the sound booth tweaking the board or making new playlists. ) TJ enjoys hanging with students and helps lead a small group. He is also an all star “Call of Duty” player TJ is married to Simone.

Simone Patterson: Simone is new face around GroundZero. She is married to TJ the sound guy. Simone helps out in the Cafe with Terry and Connie. Besides being a Steelers fan Simone is pretty cool.

David Bohrnstedt: We call him fajita, he hates it! David is the intern at ALCC he is such a major part of the success of GZ, lots of the stuff he is involved with is behind closed doors. Primarly the Graphic Design and Video Editing. We like that! God has a great future for David in ministry and we are excited where that will lead him.
